Conscious Climate Conscience

The inner workings of the government are a mystery to most people. They certainly are to me. K.Rudd is up there on TV saying that Australia must act now on climate change, and proceeds to do nothing. Is he lying or is there some mysterious system that subverts people with good intentions to do little or nothing?

For me, Lobbyists are an important and unspoken part of this process. A lobbyist is a person who tries to influence legislation on behalf of a special interest by contacting the officials or politicians involved in the decision-making. As you may know, recently it became law that you must be on a Register if you are lobbyist in Australia.

This link is a Register of Lobbyists for Big Polluters around the Emissions Trading Scheme. It was developed by a Marion, Ben and Flint - people I know quite well and are really good journalists.
